Congratulations on a Successful School Year! Welcome to a restful Summer.
As the school year winds down, we at Advanced Classroom Technologies say congratulations on a successful school year and we wish you a restful and energizing summer break. Like every year, this year has been filled with its challenges and triumphs, but every day you worked tirelessly to make your classroom a place where all students were engaged, were challenged and grew. Enjoy your well-earned break!
At ACT, the summer is our busiest time. As schools clear out, we come in. We will be hard at work in schools and classrooms in Washington, Nevada, California, Idaho, and Oregon. We will be installing interactive flat panels, installing audio systems, dropping network cables, connecting cabling infrastructure to bells and paging systems. We will be assembling charging carts for chromebook devices and cleaning and checking interactive flat panels. We will swap out aging equipment for newer technology and put in new systems where none existed before. We will be in brand new schools helping install the final A/V equipment, as well as retrofitting some of our more tenured schools with much needed technology upgrades. Our installation team will grow and its daily schedule will shift from swing shift to day shift. We will be busy! As the summer starts to wind down, our support and professional development teams will kick into high gear, helping support you as you return to the classroom through troubleshooting issues that arise when things are turned off for two months and by providing training for the new tools we installed over the summer.
The summer is your time to enjoy yourself away from the classroom. But…if you are looking for ways to maintain or better understand your technology tools over the summer, here are a few suggestions:
Power off your technology–make sure that your student devices, computers, and interactive displays are also taking a much-needed nap. You'll help your school save on electricity too.
Be careful about how you clean an interactive flat panel– Slightly dampen a clean microfiber cloth with tap water or an isopropyl alcohol solution and wipe the screen only in one direction. Be careful not to apply too much pressure to the glass. Dry afterward with another clean microfiber cloth.
When you're tired of camping and can't stand to read another title off your summer reading list, consider participating in a digital learning summit. Ask your district’s technology team about resources that are available for your classroom’s technology footprint. Many interactive flat panel manufacturers such as Promethean and Smart Technologies host teacher professional development summits on the latest tips and tricks. Thank you again for all your hard work. Congratulations on a successful year. Please enjoy a wonderful summer break!
